ABOUT

Our Story

Located in Lochawe village, our inn occupies a historic building dating back to the late 1890s. Originally used as stable buildings for the gentry staying at the Lochawe Hotel, built with the railways introduction to the West of Scotland. In the 1960s, the building underwent a transformation into a pub famously known as the "Tight Line," catering initially to fishermen and visitors but unfortunately experienced a decline in the 90s and eventually closed its doors in 2010.

Following years of neglect, the prominent building's derelict state gave a sense of devaluation to the surrounding area. Recognizing the loss to the community and seeking a new challenge, Ian, Tracey, and Steve embarked on a journey to revitalize the building, giving birth to the Ben Cruachan Inn in April 2017. Since then, having transformed it into a bustling gastro pub and inn complete with inviting accommodation.

Our interior boasts a stylish design with stunning views of Loch Awe from the bar, fostering an informal ambiance where guests can unwind and savor exceptional locally sourced cuisine. For sunny days, our terrace and beer garden are popular spots, while a cozy fireplace keeps guests warm during winter visits.
